Young Illustrator's Guidelines

Please read these guidelines carefully before sending your illustrations in to us.

  • The entry fee is £5 for each drawing submitted.
  • No cash to be sent in with your drawing.  We accept cheques or postal orders only.  Postal orders can be bought from your nearest Post Office.
  • All cheques and postal orders must be made out to Chapter One Promotions.
  • The prizes are: 1st prize: £150, 2nd prize: £75, 3rd prize: £50.
  • The winning drawings and the top ten runners up will be published in a book alongside the winners from the Children's Story Competition.
  • The book will be available to buy through our website.
  • At the back of your sketch please write the title of your illustration.
  • Send your contact details - name, address, age and the title of your drawing - on a separate sheet of paper.
  • Your name must not be placed anywhere on the front of your drawing.
  • All illustrations and drawings are non returnable.
  • We only accept postal entries.
  • For entries paid online, please state the date and time of payment on the sheet of paper with your contact details.
  • All entries must be sent to Young Illustrator's Competition, Chapter One Promotions, 19-35 Sylvan Grove, London, SE15 1PD, England.
  • Anyone up to the age of 18 years old may enter the Young Illustrator's Competition.
  • If you are 18 years old, to be eligible for this competition, your 19th birthday must not fall on or after the 1st November.
  • The deadline for the competition is midnight on Friday 31st October 2008.  Please send in your entry before or on this date.  Any sketches received after the deadline will not be entered into the competition.
  • Only the winners will be notified by post.
  • For a list of all the winners send a 2nd class stamped addressed envelope to us marked 'Young Illustrator's Winners 2008' and we will post the results to you.
  • The results will be available on the website in January 2009.
