Short Story Competition Rules
• The International Short Story Competition is open to all nationalities.
• All entries must be in English and double spaced.
• The story must be no longer than 2500 words and previously unpublished.
• Entrants must be over 18 years old to enter.
• It must be entirely the writer's own work.
• Any story that has been viewed on a writer's forum on any website is eligible.
• The entry fee is £10 per story.
• You can submit as many stories as you like along with the correct entry fee.
• Cheques, postal orders or bankers draft must be in pound sterling and made out to Chapter One Promotions.
• You can pay and submit online by selecting one of the Payment Options.
• Repeat the online submission process for each story submitted.
• For postal submissions include your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and story title on a separate sheet of paper.
• No contact details must be written anywhere on the story.
• The prizes are: First prize: £2,500, second prize £1,000, third prize £500.
• The winners, ten runners up and five highly recommended will be published in Chapter One Promotions anthology.
• Each writer will receive one copy.
• The prize money will be issued in the winner's local currency within three months after an agreement has been signed and returned.
• Previous top three winners are not permitted to enter the competition for one year.
• The deadline for submissions is midnight on Saturday 30th January 2010.
• Only the winners will be notified by post.
• A list of winners will be available to view on the website on Friday 30 April 2010.
• For a list of winners, runners up and those highly recommended, send a second class stamped sae to Chapter One Promotions marked 'Winners 2010'.

The judge's decision is final.
