Self Published Book Award
The Self Published Book Award is now established as the leading frontrunner to highlight and promote writers who self publish their work.
Our first competition was a testament to the wonderful display of vibrant, exhilarating and inspiring collection of poetry, fiction and non fiction books.
The books were diverse in style and subject matter and were a testimony to those authors who have taken an idea, and through sheer hard work and imagination, created their own work of art from dynamic storytelling and informative concepts to innovative book covers.
The fact that a writer had gone down the self publishing route should be applauded, as the time and attention taken to not only write a full length novel but to edit, proof, design and to then take control of the whole printing and promotional aspect is an admirable feat in itself.
Many self published works have gone on to great success, some have even been taken on by the more mainstream publishing houses. But for those who have skilfully gone down this path, there are many others who need the necessary exposure to launch their book and their career.
What we are looking for are stories that are captivating, original, outspoken or daring in their subject matter. Poetry collections can depict moments in time, events and feelings or touch us with their inspirational theme and thoughtfulness. With non fiction, the subject should be thoroughly researched, insightful and with a strong sense of engagement with the reader. Each book submitted will be read and assessed on its own merit.
