For the first Open Poetry Competition in 2005, Judge Anna Robinson chose from a selection of highly imaginative and varied poems submitted.

Anna picked twenty of the best poems on offer and all the poems were displayed anonymously on the website.  The public then had the option of selecting one poem that they considered their favourite.

The poems with the highest votes received the top three prizes and were exhibited on the site with the poet's biography.

The winners were:

First place:             Graham Burchell            'Still Waiting'

Second place:         Anton Fitzsimons            'For Sister'

Third place:             Heidi Blake                    'The Tube'
