Catechism 3
Grandma's kitchen was as blue
As the water
As the sky
As the lady
Grandma's bedroom was as dark
As her cross
As her secret
As her god
Grandma's bedroom was as light
As my promise
As my faith
As my spirit
Grandma's garden was as red
As the blood
As the roses
As the son

More About Sarah
Sarah Radford was born in Wales and now lives in the South West of France with her husband, their children and several cats.
From childhood Sarah has enjoyed both writing creatively and performing. During her early 20’s (not that long ago!), she wrote and performed her own songs professionally, but while her children were small, returned to writing poems and stories for her own enjoyment.
Sarah currently stays busy by doing voluntary work for the local expatriate community and is a member of a creative writing group. This is the first major competition she has won. Sarah's favourite writers include Anne Rice, Antonia Fraser, Ray Bradbury, Anne McCaffrey, Ian McEwan and Alison Weir.
