Caroline Uff
I was born in Hong Kong in 1967. When I was still a baby my family moved back to Yorkshire.
From a very early age I enjoyed drawing and making things from bits and pieces of
cardboard and cellotape. Although, sadly, I never won a " Blue Peter badge" I was not discouraged and continued with my artistic endeavours.
Much later I went on to study at Edinburgh College of Art and finally specialised in Illustration.
After graduating with a BA and a post graduate diploma I moved to London where I started my career illustrating for magazines and newspapers.
My first children's book "I Can Do It" was published by ABC in 1995. My series of picture books for very young children featuring "Lulu" (Orchard Books) helped to establish me in the children's book world.
Since then I have illustrated (and sometimes also written) for Scholastic and Hodder. Other titles include two series of popular novelty books for Campbell books and the picture book, " 99 Mostly Fun Things I’ll Do Today" published in 2007 by Egmont. I also illustrate for Practical Professional Childcare Magazine (published by Step Forward Publishing).
My latest book, "A Present From Lulu " will be published by Orchard early next year.
