1st Paragraph Competition Rules
The 1st Paragraph Competition is open to all nationalities worldwide.
• All entries must be in English.
• The 1st Paragraph Competition is for original and previously unpublished work.
• Entrants must be over 18 years old to enter.
• Self published entries are permitted.
• An entry that has been viewed on any forum or website is accepted.
• Collaborated entries are permitted. Include the name and contact details of all collaborators.
• The entry fee is £12 per submission.
• You can submit as many entries as you like along with the correct entry fee.
• Cheques, postal orders or bankers draft must be in pound sterling and made out to Chapter One Promotions.
• Postal submissions must include name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, story title and word count on a separate sheet of paper.
• No contact details must be written anywhere on the entry.
• Include a short biography of no more than 200 words.
• The prize is £300 for first prize, £150 for second prize and £50 for third prize.
• The winners and runners up will be featured in an anthology.
• The prize money will be issued in the winner's local currency within three months after an agreement has been signed and returned.
• The top three winners are not permitted to enter the competition for one year.
• The deadline for submissions is midnight on Sunday 30 September 2012.
• Only the winners and runners up will be notified by post.
• The winners will be announced on the website on Friday 1 February 2013.
• For written documentation of the winners send a second class stamped sae to Chapter One Promotions marked '1st Paragraph Competition Winners 2012'.

The Judge's decision is final.
